Waiting List Print E-mail

We can accept children who attend Kimpton School or live in the Parish of Kimpton or in Whitwell. The Kimpton Scout Group Executive Committee manages the waiting list priority system. The basic system is that priority is given in the order that the child's name is placed on the waiting list. However it is a bit more complicated than that. For instance a child who is in Beavers now will have a higher priority to get in to Cubs than someone who is not in Beavers but puts their name on the Cub waiting list. There are other complications but  the Group Executive Committee deals with them all fairly.

We treat boys and girls equally on the waiting lists and currently have girls in Beavers and in Scouts.

We have three intakes a year at the beginning of each school term; Beavers are normally admitted at the start of the term after their 6th birthday, Cubs when they reach 8, and Scouts from 10.5 onwards.

A place on the waiting list will only be confirmed when we have received a completed 'parent information form' for a child. Be warned that casual conversations with Leaders, or even seemingly formal agreements, regarding getting children on waiting lists are not relevant or valid. The only way is to complete the parent information form and send it in. At the time of writing this note the Kimpton Scout Group is experiencing unprecedented growth and it is necessary to be scrupulously fair to all parties regarding the Waiting Lists and the management of them.
